  • involved in level crossing accident 23 November 1999 near Bowmanville, ON. While trailing CN 5382 pulling a west-bound freight, struck a truck carrying a front-end loader and cherry-picker, driving it into the path on on-coming VIA train 68. Locomotive 5329 remained upright but lost its wheels.

  • In 1985, 5334 was painted in special Expo 86 colours. It had a large white horizontal band on the long hood, with diagonal stripes of purple, blue, green, and yellow.
