CNIS 417225 was one of two CN boxcars painted especially for Expo 86.
CN SD40-2W locomotive 5334 was also painted for the occasion, but was repainted in standard CN colours soon afterwards. Piggyback trailer CNPZ 205625 was painted in the same special scheme as this locomotive. CN 557420 was painted with four diagonal stripes reading from right to left: deep mauve, mauve, mauve-pink, and light mauve. CN 547083 received forest green, dark green, medium green, and medium yellow stripes.
CNIS 417225 was built in 1973 by NSC with an inside length of 52.8 feet. This photo was taken March 28, 1999, at Ile-Perrot, Que., by Brian Ellis. By this time, the paint was getting quite faded.
