Norfolk Southern GE DASH9-40CW No. 9489 leads train 328 downgrade through Dundas Ontario on February 5 2005. For many years Norfolk Southern ran trains of primarily auto parts to Ford’s Talbotville assembly plant near St. Thomas, Ontario. After Norfolk Southern gave up their own track across southern Ontario from St. Thomas to Fort Erie they acquired trackage rights to run from St. Thomas to Buffalo over CN. The plant, which opened in 1967, closed in 2011 ending Norfolk Southern’s need to run trains 327 and 328 on CN.
