The Canadian National Railways Historical Association was founded in 1989 as an international operational research and historical group that exclusively focuses on the Canadian National family of railways and promotes the art of modelling them accurately.

The Duluth Winnipeg & Pacific started in 1901 as the Duluth, Virginia & Rainy Lake Railway. Construction started at Virginia, MN and the line was extended to Silver Lake, MN.
